This card is very ambiguous because it mediates between two worlds. Don’t get it wrong, it is not the world of the living and the dead, but a transition – when something in our life changes and we set foot on a completely new path. It is the media that made Death card scary and ominous. Most people almost faint when they see this card in the spread, but they do not realize it doesn’t symbolize death literally, just metaphorically. It might talk about changes in your love life, your future plans, a long trip, or simply closing a chapter of your life. You can say that Death is simply indifferent – neither sinister nor beneficent.
